Steve Skoufalos, President
Stephen’s 40-year professional career includes management positions in engineering, marketing, and sales for entrepreneurial companies, as well as Fortune 500 aerospace and telecommunications corporations. An accomplished sales manager, he mentored several regional and national sales teams that were frequently recognized for outstanding performance.Upon his retirement in 2012, Stephen began working regularly as a volunteer for the Great Valley School District where he applies his skills and talents to help third through fifth grade students learn math and apply mathematical concepts. In 2016, he joined the Board of The Foundation at Great Valley and assumed the role of development committee chair and vice president of the Board. In 2018, Stephen was elected president of The Foundation at Great Valley Board.In his spare time, Stephen enjoys golf, photography, and international travel.
Tom Koester, Vice-President
Tom Koester is in his second terms as a board member and was elected Vice President in 2018. He and his wife, Sara, have been Malvern residents for over 20 years. They have two daughters; a graduate of the class of 2018 and a current student in the class of 2021. Tom looks forward to supporting the Foundation as it continues to grow and evolve.
Chuck Linderman, Finance Chair
Ken Bigelow is in his second term as a Board Member of The Foundation at Great Valley. He is the father of three Great Valley graduates, Kate 2005, Steven 2008, and Laura 2011. Ken has spent his entire working career in the textile industry and still works full time as an independent sale rep for a large American textile firm. The Bigelow family greatly benefited from their Great Valley School District experience and it is Ken’s desire is to continue to provide similar opportunities for all current and future Great Valley families.
Dr. Rita Jones is in her second term as a Board Member of the F@GV. She served as the Superintendent of Great Valley for 16 years with 23 total years as a superintendent. Dr. Jones worked in education for 38 years as a teacher, principal, assistant superintendent and superintendent in PA and OH. She has served on several non-profit boards and also created and served as president of her own non-profit organization entitled “Learning without Borders” from 2010 until 2015. Dr. Jones is honored to continue to serve the students and community of GVSD through her membership on the Foundation Board.
Avleen Kaur is a rising senior who loves to serve and be involved in her community and school. She is the Vice President of the GVHS robotics club, Treasurer of National Honor Society, Secretariat member of the Model United Nations Club, and Co-President of the Women in Science and Engineering Club. This past year, she was chosen to participate in the Youth Leadership Program hosted by the Chester County Chamber of Commerce and the Junior Achievement Company Program hosted at Voya Financial. She has been volunteering at Sunrise Senior Living for four years and has received the Presidential Service Award for the past four years as well. She loves to spread her interest in Business and STEM which she hopes to pursue in the future, and is very excited about this amazing opportunity to help the Foundation.
Abby Linderman is a 2003 graduate of Great Valley High School. She has been in education for twelve years and taught for 8 years before moving into administration. She serves as the Treasurer of the Alumni Association Board. The Alumni Association Board is excited to partner with the foundation to support current and future Great Valley families.
Mary Jane (MJ) Malandrucco
MJ and her husband Greg, are the parents of a son in the GV class of 2024. MJ and has worked in the education industry for over 20 years. She is currently the State Lead for the college assessment non-profit company ACT Inc. She received a BA from East Stroudsburg University with a focus in political science and history. MJ developed a strong sense of devotion for the nonprofit sector as an organizer for various hunger organizations and through her work with ACT. This experience gave her a deep appreciation for how nonprofits seek to improve the quality of life for our schools and region; one program at a time, and is now dedicated to the mission of the Foundation.
Rebecca Stern is a rising junior and served as the sophomore class president. She is a 2019 Germination Project Fellow and she is the Chamber Singers librarian. She has performed in Great Valley Drama Guild’s fall play and spring musical every year, and she additionally performs for other shows or events outside of school. She is the president of Great Valley Girl Up. Rebecca started a nonprofit organization called Girls TogetHER that pairs 4th-6th-grade girls with high school mentors and teaches them leadership skills.
