The Foundation at Great Valley facilitates community involvement in, and support of the education of, our Great Valley students. Whether you want to volunteer for an hour here and there, or you want to take an active role in helping to drive a committee or plan an event, or you have professional expertise or resources to share, the Foundation can put your time and talents to work. Foundation Board of Directors Committees:
Chairperson: Ravi Inaganti
The Allocation Committee under the direction of the Board of Directors, serves to set grants policies and guidelines, and oversees the Foundation’s funding programs including the Venture Grants program and funding for district initiatives. Currently, this committee meets on the first Friday of the month at 8:00 AM.
Communications & Marketing Committee
Chairperson: Steve Skoufalos
The role of this committee is to increase interest and awareness in the work of the Foundation at Great Valley by promoting student achievement, Foundation funded programs and initiatives, and other activities. Key activities include developing promotional literature, periodic newsletters, and videos as well as website and social media presence. The Communications committee works cooperatively with Development and Allocations in accomplishing their goals.
Chairperson: Steve Skoufalos
The role of this committee is to increase and diversify funding from individuals, local businesses, corporations, and events by building relationships with donors. Its goal is to provide continued growth and financial stability for the Foundation’s work. Volunteers on this committee are encouraged to find their own area of focus and participate on 1-2 subcommittees. All members serve as ambassadors for the Foundation in the larger community and support development activities such as assistance with appeals, note writing, making thank you calls, and helping with events.
Chairpersons: John Vestri
The Finance Committee serves as a resource to the Foundation Board of Directors on financial matters. In cooperation with the Great Valley School District Business Office, they ensure the assets of the Foundation are managed in accordance with approved policies. This committee is responsible for reviewing financial statements, preparing the budget, and recommending approval to the Board of Directors. Meetings are held quarterly in January, April, July, October. We value the advice and resources we receive from financial experts in the community. The finance committee is also always looking for volunteer help with data entry and administrative tasks.
Chairperson: Ann Juliano
The role of this committee is oversight for the effective performance of the Board of Directors. By maintaining board member profiles, identifying areas of strength and weakness, considering technical skills and personal talents needed to complement Board diversity the committee is able to recruit potential new board members. Other responsibilities include ensuring by-laws and policies are current, providing board development and training for the current board and orientation for new board members. The Governance committee meets on a quarterly basis or as needed. Do you have experience with governance for a charitable organization? The Foundation would love your help!

The Foundation is always looking for new ways to engage our Great Valley alumni through events, newsletters, mailings and involvement in alumni groups.
These ad hoc committees help plan and implement the Foundation’s various fund-raising events
We begin each school year with our Annual Campaign asking the Great Valley community to invest in our schools. Through September and October we post our thermometer sign in front of the Middle School and on our website to track our progress toward our financial goal. It’s an exciting time for the Foundation, and all eyes in the community are focused on supporting a strong GVSD education.
Take a Swing for Students Golf and Tennis Event

The Foundation celebrates the conclusion of each school year with our golf and tennis event at Chester Valley. It’s a day of fun for all, culminating in cocktails, dinner and prizes in the clubhouse. Are you a golf and/or tennis and/or fun enthusiast? Join this committee!
Grants Selection Committee
Within the Venture Grants program, the Allocations Committee appoints a Grants Selection Committee to review all grant requests and make recommendations to the board regarding the selection of grants to fund for the next year, based on the Venture Grants budget. The Grants Selection Committee is comprised of parent representatives from each GV school as well as community representatives. If interested, please email the Foundation.
“Volunteer at Large” Opportunities

There are many ways the Foundation can use your help from specific, one-time tasks to ongoing coordinator opportunities. Email us to express your interest in serving as a Foundation volunteer. In your email, please indicate the types of things you would like to help with (general office help, data entry, events staff volunteering, small item donations, etc), and we will email you when opportunities arise.
We’re also looking for specific on-going coordination volunteers including:
Staff Appreciation Coordinator – on a quarterly basis the Foundation provides cookies or other treats to the district teachers and staff as a way of thanking them for what they do.
Office Coordinator – organize and maintain the Foundation office including files, event items, and other general organizational tasks.
Friend Raiser Coordinator – assist hosts with planning and set-up of friend raising events.
Volunteer Coordinator – assist the Foundation in building volunteer relationships within the community and help ensure effective use of volunteers.
